Sri Lakshmi Narayani Temple, Tamil Nadu

Many centuries ago in Thirumalai Kodi, saints and sages performed intense penance for many years for the Universal Mother to save the universe from the sufferings of Kalyuga and prayed for her incarnation on earth. Pleased by the selfless prayers of the sages, the mother blessed her to incarnate in human form on earth.

Sri Sakthi Amma was born to Sri Nanda Gopal and Mrs Jyotimma. The child was feeling divine from birth. The child had a divine ray of light on his forehead and other distinctive symbols on the body. Through this, the relation of his divinity was established. The child happily showed keen interest in spiritual life, participated joyfully in religious ceremonies- pujas, and bhajans, and insisted on visiting places of worship on a daily basis. Participated in religious traditions, enjoyed visiting places of worship, and was absent from school. He was not mischievous but was seriously inclined toward spirituality.

One day the 16-year-old boy was going to school. He was sitting near the window looking at the sky and suddenly a ray of energy emerged from the child's body, which projected into the sky and became an image of Goddess Narayani. Legend has it that Goddess Lakshmi appeared in the sky dressed in white with a conch shell and chakra in her hands. And the third hand is with the blessing posture and the fourth hand is holding a lotus, which is a symbol of spirituality. After some time the goddess disappeared, but the ray of energy changed the life of the boy. She named herself Sakthi Amma and also proclaimed Sri Lakshmi Narayani.

A unique and magnificent temple for Goddess Narayani, artistically designed. The temple was built in a grand manner at Thirumalai Kodi over a period of four years. The temple tower vimana is built in an octagonal shape 63 feet high.
